The Bowie/Mitchellville Alumni Chapter (BMAC) of Kappa Alpha Psi has pledged to promote and facilitate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and career readiness for pre-college students (6-12) from groups that are underrepresented in these fields. The objectives of the STEM program will be primarily achieved through the launching of the organization's STEM Cybersecurity Academy & the BMAC NSBE Jr. Programs.
“The mission of the BMAC STEM program is to provide diversified experiences for students in the STEM disciplines and provide them opportunities to learn from Cybersecurity Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). With the Omnisource(https://omnisource.info/) collaboration, we are hoping to provide students in grades (6–12) with supplemental STEM curricula/activities and exposure to STEM concepts. We also believe that this collaboration will be a major step in our ongoing effort to emphasize the importance of STEM education and how it will improve employment options for high school and college graduates in an economy that is increasingly based on Science and Information Technology.”
