What Is This Initiative?
The BMAC STEM Initiative is a structured, chapter-led STEM education and workforce development program operating under the Guide Right Program of the Bowie Mitchellville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The initiative provides free, accessible STEM education, cybersecurity training, mentorship, and career pathway programming to students and young adults in Prince George's County, Maryland and the surrounding region.
Operating under The STEM Continuum™ framework, the program delivers six core program tracks spanning K–12 enrichment, cybersecurity career development, college preparation, summer coding, girls in STEM, and educator professional development.

Kappa Alpha Psi's Guide Right Program has a century-long mandate to develop youth. The BMAC STEM Initiative operationalizes that mandate for the 21st century — transforming it from mentorship into a structured, measurable, and scalable STEM education ecosystem.
What Is Being Authorized
Formal Recognition
Official recognition of the BMAC STEM Initiative as a sanctioned Guide Right program of the Bowie Mitchellville Alumni Chapter.
Operational Authority
Authorization for the Chapter to solicit partnerships, sponsorships, and grants in support of BMAC STEM programming.
Fiscal Framework
Establishment of a dedicated program fund with annual reporting requirements to the Chapter body and Province leadership.
Expansion Pathway
Authorization to develop a replicable model for adoption by other Alumni Chapters within the Eastern Province and nationally.
Governance & Oversight
The initiative is governed by a Program Advisory Council chaired by the Chapter's Guide Right Director. The Council includes the Chapter Polemarch, at least two Chapter Brothers with STEM or education credentials, one community stakeholder, and one student representative. Annual program reports are submitted to the Chapter body and Province Polemarch.
Fiduciary Safeguards

- ▸The BMAC STEM Initiative has been developed as a structured, scalable, and fiscally responsible response to that gap;
- ▸The initiative aligns with the Fraternity's national strategic priorities and the Guide Right Program's century-long mission;
Now Therefore Be It Resolved
- 1The Bowie Mitchellville Alumni Chapter hereby formally recognizes and sanctions the BMAC STEM Initiative as an official Guide Right program;
- 2The Chapter authorizes the Program Advisory Council to operate, expand, and seek funding for the initiative within the governance framework herein established;
- 3The Chapter directs annual reporting to the Chapter body and Province leadership on program outcomes, finances, and strategic direction;
- 4This Resolution shall remain in effect for four (4) years from the date of adoption, subject to reauthorization by the Chapter body.
What Delegates Are Voting On
A vote in favor of this resolution authorizes the BMAC STEM Initiative to operate as a formally sanctioned Guide Right program, establishes its governance structure, and empowers the Chapter to pursue partnerships and funding in support of its mission. It does not authorize any expenditure beyond currently available program funds without separate Chapter approval.
