Legacy Stewardship & Authorship Doctrine
The STEM Continuum™ is a systems-based STEM education and workforce development framework authored and originally developed by Kenji Darby, CISM, PMP, and presented for long-term stewardship within Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The framework is offered with the explicit intent to leave behind a framework the Fraternity can inherit, steward, and evolve — while preserving the integrity of its original design.
While the STEM Continuum™ may be adopted, stewarded, expanded, or evolved by Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., its original authorship and core design principles are permanently preserved and attributed to the author. No chapter, province, or subordinate body is designated as the originating entity or pilot owner of the framework.

- ▸Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was founded on the principle of Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor and has historically served as a premier leadership institution within the African American community;
- ▸The Fraternity has a demonstrated legacy of producing leaders in education, government, business, science, technology, and civic life;
- ▸The challenges facing our communities in the twenty-first century — including economic inequality, technological disruption, educational access gaps, and weakened civic infrastructure — require systemic, long-term solutions rather than episodic programming;
- ▸National best practices increasingly emphasize institution-building, intergenerational wealth creation, and data-driven leadership pipelines as mechanisms for sustainable community advancement;
- ▸Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is uniquely positioned, through its national structure, alumni expertise, and chapter presence, to design and steward permanent community infrastructure that endures for generations;
Now Therefore Be It Resolved
- 1Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. hereby establishes the Legacy Infrastructure Initiative (LII) as a national strategic framework to guide the Fraternity's long-term community impact efforts;
- 2The Legacy Infrastructure Initiative shall consist of four integrated pillars: Kappa Community Innovation Hubs; The Kappa Generational Wealth & Ownership Program; The Kappa Pipeline: From Boyhood to Brotherhood to Boardroom; and A National Digital Civic Platform owned and governed by the Fraternity;
- 3The Board of Directors, in coordination with appropriate national committees, shall establish a National LII Steering Committee charged with governance, oversight, pilot selection, and evaluation;
- 4Pilot implementation shall be authorized across selected chapters and provinces to validate scalability, sustainability, and impact prior to national expansion;
- 5Outcome-based metrics — including educational attainment, workforce placement, wealth-building indicators, and leadership development outcomes — shall be used to assess the effectiveness of the Initiative;
- 6The Legacy Infrastructure Initiative shall be subject to a formal Sunset and Review Clause to ensure accountability, relevance, and continuous improvement.
